As part of the development of the City of Saint-Jérôme’s Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategic Plan, Biodiversité conseil inc. was mandated to conduct a survey of the types of natural environments within the territory. This involved updating the inventory and characterization of natural environments, including forest stands, and green spaces, across all private and public lands in the City of Saint-Jérôme. Field surveys of natural environments (forest environments and all flow beds within the urban area) were carried out over an area of 92 km2 and data compilation and analysis covered more than 900 forest polygons. An ecological value assessment was also conducted to guide conservation planning for the territory’s natural habitats.
