CDPNQ (2023)

The Quebec Natural Heritage Data Center (CDPNQ) plays a crucial role in collecting data and monitoring populations of endangered and vulnerable species. In 2018 and from 2022 to 2025, Biodiversité conseil participated in this broad task in the Outaouais, Montérégie, Centre-du-Québec, Estrie, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Laval, and Montreal regions. The validation of occurrences of 12 species in a precarious situation was completed, notably for the American cancer-root (Conopholis americana), the Downy rattlesnake plantain (Goodyera pubescens), the rock elm (Ulmus thomasii), the black maple (Acer nigrum), the green dragon (Arisaema dracontium), Vasey’s pondweed (Potamogeton vaseyi), the budding pondweed (Potamogeton berchtoldii ssp. Gemmiparus), the northern long sedge (Carex folliculata), the slender bulrush (Schoenoplectus heterochaetus), the lowland yellow loosestrife (Lysimachia hybrida), the water speedwell (Veronica catenata), and the swamp white oak (Quercus bicolor). The data collected according to requirements of the CDPNQ at each occurrence allowed to document the habitats of these species, their health status, and the threats weighing on certain populations, providing avenues of action for conservation.
